Hayrides

Group on hayride

A group of customers enjoys a hayride to the fields.

Our hay wagon, covered by patchwork canopy made by Loyd daughter Tara (the artsy one) and pulled by our trusty John Deere, is the stylish way to get to and from the Christmas Center and fields of trees. Hayrides are available only on weekends, during which they run several times a day. We do not set exact times of departure, preferring to keep things flexible within the flurry of activity that surrounds the holiday season. Typically, we refrain from running hayrides on weekdays; however, we are more than happy to make special arrangements for large groups visiting the farm during those days, such as schools, as long as someone calls a few days in advance to prearrange.

Child on Hayride

One of the side effects of hayrides: hay.

Nearly two decades ago for several years we hired a team of horses to pull our hay wagon, but the costs of housing the horses and their handlers proved to be too much for us to bear. Now, however, we are considering introducing this quaint attraction again in the coming years. If that is something you really would like to see happen, or if have any thoughts or suggestions on the matter at all, shoot us an email.

Barn with Hayride Wagon in Front

Our hay wagon with its newer patchwork canopy sits in front of our event barn this summer.
